The ELAC IC 1005 speaker system can be installed into the walls or ceiling of the sounded room and is an excellent example of a modern inexpensive and very high quality built-in speaker. It has a coaxial configuration, which ensures its small size and uniform radiation pattern. The ELAC IC 1005 is great for listening to music or playing movie soundtracks, and can be used with cabinet speakers to create multi-channel sets. These speakers are able to create a convincing sound space in a room without taking up space in it, which is in many demanded by many users.

The speakers are equipped with a 130 mm woofer, which is made of glass-reinforced polypropylene, thanks to which it is able to create significant sound pressure without audible distortion even with increased power input. A soft-dome tweeter with a diameter of 20 mm is installed in the center of the woofer cone. The speakers are connected to a crossover filter tuned to 2200Hz, which is a common value in Hi-Fi acoustics, and also ensures good compatibility of the ELAC IC 1005 with various models of cabinet speakers.

The speaker system is equipped with a protective grid with a magnetic lock, which can be removed and replaced without the use of any tools. If desired, the grill, which has a white base finish, can be painted in any desired color. Combined with the simple installation of the ELAC IC 1005 itself, this ensures convenient installation and maintenance of the column. This model has a 6-ohm impedance that is compatible with any Hi-Fi amplifier or AV receiver. To connect the cable from the amplifier, the ELAC IC 1005 has a pair of gold-plated push-in terminals with color-coded polarity. In order to develop the nominal sound pressure, the column requires only 50 watts of input power.

When properly installed, the ELAC IC 1005’s low-profile front panel makes it almost invisible in the room.
