JET6! Upgrade of the most beautiful ribbon tweeter

Since its original introduction in 1995, ELAC has continuously sought innovations to improve the JET ribbon tweeter. In 2023, ELAC will release the JET 6, the fifth generation of this ribbon tweeter. A completely new layout of the aluminum foil paths and front plate has been developed for the JET 6, resulting in an improved linear response in the frequency range, less distortion and a lower resonance frequency. This last improvement offers significant advantages in optimizing the crossover filter between the ribbon tweeter and the woofer.

The cone design of this speaker chassis represents the characteristic features of ELAC's top models. The cone itself is made of ultra-light aluminum, which derives its stiffness from the advanced crystal structure. In addition, the rear of the cone is equipped with a cellulose cone to dampen the hard properties of aluminum. What distinguishes the woofer in the Elegant BS-312.2 from its predecessor is the addition of an extra magnet and a larger voice coil diameter.
 

Thoughtful design

Consistent down to the last detail; the Elegant BS 312.2 monitor speaker is well thought out in every respect. The low-resonance aluminum housing and high-quality components - such as generously dimensioned air coils, foil capacitors and Van den Hul internal cabling - perform their work invisibly. At the rear, the bass reflex pipe and opening have been re-optimized and there are sturdy bi-wiring connection terminals.
 

Practical optional Alrulastic aluminum base

Of course, the Elegant BS312.2 can be placed on a piece of furniture with the supplied adhesive felt, but this does not sell the speaker short. The sturdy Alrulastic aluminum base is equipped with rubber damping material with a refined structure at the top, so that acoustic feedback does not have a chance. The same base can also serve as a mounting plate that can be screwed onto the LS 60 speaker stand. The Elegant BS 312.2 can in turn be screwed onto this. A perfect base.
 

The personal touch

The Elegant BS 312.2 is supplied without grilles because it offers a multitude of options to personalize the speakers. Without a grille, this speaker is already beautiful to look at. Naturally, there are also the usual black and white metal grilles, but there are also grilles with a beautifully painted plastic frame and fabric upholstery in eight color combinations. There will even be an online tool available that allows you to design the fabric yourself, whether it matches your curtains, sofa cushions or even your favorite shirt? Let your imagination run wild.
